Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Matchday is developed by Techmind (Andreas Kondylis), Greece. Contact: akondylis@techmind.gr.
2. Data stored by the app
The club enters teams, players, events, lineups, results and settings. Matchday stores this in a database on the club's computer, or beside the app on a USB stick for the portable edition. It is not sent to Techmind. The club decides what it enters and is responsible for handling its players' personal data lawfully under the GDPR, in particular that of minors.
Player names, ESO and FIDE IDs, ratings, club, sex and date of birth come from the rating lists that ESO and FIDE publish for everyone.
3. Google account and Google Drive (optional)
Connecting Google Drive is optional. Everything else in Matchday works without it. If you connect, you sign in on Google's own page in your web browser and Matchday asks for these permissions:
| Permission | What Matchday does with it |
|---|---|
drive.fileSee, edit, create and delete only the Google Drive files that Matchday creates | Creates a Matchday folder in your Drive and saves database backups in it. Lists, downloads and restores those backups, and deletes older Matchday backups so only the newest 10 are kept. Creates the availability sheet there and reads it back when you import the answers. It cannot see or open any other file in your Drive. |
openid, userinfo.emailYour Google account email address | Shown in Settings so you can see which Google account is connected. |
- Where it is stored: the backups and the sheet are in your own Google Drive. The sign-in token is stored only on your computer, encrypted with Windows' protected storage, and is never put in the database or in backups. Techmind never receives your Google data, your files or your token.
- Sharing: Matchday does not share your files. If you want players to fill in the availability sheet, you share it yourself with Google's own Share button.
- No other use: Google data is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not used to train AI or machine-learning models, and is not read by people at Techmind.
Matchday's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Other internet connections
Matchday connects to these services. None of them receives data you entered, except the public IDs shown below:
- ratings.fide.com and chessfed.gr: download the public FIDE and ESO rating lists.
- chesstu.be: checks the public ESO registration fee status. The request contains only the club's ESO code or a player's ESO ID.
- github.com: checks for and downloads app updates.
Like any website, these services can see your computer's IP address. Their own privacy policies apply. License keys are checked inside the app, without contacting a server. Matchday has no analytics, tracking or advertising.
5. This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. The hosting server may keep standard access logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security.
6. Disconnecting and deleting your data
- Disconnect Google: in Matchday open Settings › Transfer and choose Sign out of Google. This deletes the token from your computer, asks Google to revoke Matchday's access and stops sync. You can also remove Matchday's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete Drive data: delete the
Matchdayfolder in Google Drive. - Delete local data: delete the club's records in the app, or uninstall Matchday and remove its data folder. For the portable edition, delete the folder on the USB stick.
Techmind holds none of this data, so there is nothing for us to export or delete. If you have a question about your data, write to akondylis@techmind.gr. For data a club keeps about you, contact that club.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. If the change affects Google data, it will be published here before it takes effect.
